2024 Chevening/BBC World Service Group Professional Placement Programme

Apply for the exclusive 2024 Chevening/BBC World Service Group Professional Placement Programme. The Chevening Secretariat and the BBC World Service Group are inviting applications from a select group of qualified students for this prestigious programme, commencing in September 2024.

This Professional Placement course lasts three and a half months. During this time, assigned candidates will conclude their ordering at the BBC.

If nominated, you could be maintained in one of several regions of the World Service Group exercise based on your proficiency, area of research, and interest. These class exercises have to do with the following:

  • Solutions-Focused Journalism
  • World Service news courses
  • BBC World Service language services
  • BBC News online
  • BBC Monitoring
  • World Service radio
  • BBC Media Action
  • Digital output

The BBC World Service Group provides ten orderings to assigned qualified applicants for the 2024 order.

Qualification

  • The BBC World Service Group is providing up to ten orderings under the training course.
  • To be eligible for this esteemed opportunity, you must currently be a Chevening Scholar conducting research on relevant course programs at a recognized institution in the United Kingdom.
  • Candidates must have compiled at least 24 months of skills as a working journalist.
  • By the time the ordering begins, you will have completed a master’s in journalism from a United Kingdom institution.

Application

Candidates who are interested need to conclude a Chevening/BBC World Service Group Professional Placement Program request form, which will be presented electronically to engage@chevening.org. Your request will be given by the 21st April 2024 deadline.

Your request is required to attach the following papers.

  • Your up-to-date curriculum vitae.
  • Demand a status letter from your institution verifying the end date of your program.
  • You are required to attach a copy of your passport’s data page and a duplicate of your present Tier 4 visa/BRP, making sure the qualification to conclude the ordering aligns with Immigration laws.
  • Complete and attach the Chevening/BBC World Service Group Professional Placement Program request form.
